On 5th June an Open Doors day event in Salos took a place – the visitors were introduced with intermediate results of restorations works of the Project, a variety of wooded buildings restoration methods. The series “War and Peace” filming locations developed tourist route

The series, created by Tolstoy's famous novel, is rapidly gaining popularity around the world, especially in Great Britain. Filming locations also chosen not accidentally - it is a historic and authentic areas, which would convey not only novel, but also the series creators approach. That is why the Open Air Museum of Lithuania is also included as a necessary filming location - the series creators believe is the perfect equivalent of Siberia.

June 13rd -17th Camp of Hay Harvest. Pasturing of horse for the night

Training on maintenance and research on wooden heritage for owners and experts of wooden heritage at Open Air Museum of Lithuania April 25 – 27, 2016

Over thirty attendees, to include cultural heritage experts, students, owners, architects, museum staff, craftsmen, received couple of theoretical lectures. However, main focus of the training was the assessment of in situ state of wooden heritage objects and key aspects of preparing maintenance and care plans.
