Here is what we have prepared for you:

Afternoon for the year of Vilnius Gaon and Lithuanian Jewish history 

An afternoon dedicated to the year of the Vilnius Gaon and the history of Lithuanian Jews will take place in the firefighter’s shelter in the museum town. During the event, we will have the opportunity to get to know the Jewish way of life, heritage in Lithuania and visible signs in the museum.

Program of the event:

  • 1 PM discussions about Jewish life and customs with Asia Gutermanaite, a Jewish cultural researcher, and Misha Jakob, longtime leader of Sholom Aleichem Gymnasium;
  • 2 PM a walk around the museum town in search of Judaica reflections with dr. Eligijus Juvencijus Morkūnas;
  • a new exhibition “Jews of Lithuanian towns”

⠀Theatre play  “LAND OR WOMEN”

6 PM we invite you to the Barn Theater, where the play of the National Kaunas Drama Theater “Land or Woman” will be shown, based on a play by Juozas Tumas-Vaižgantas.
